Biography

My city is La Rochelle. I was born in September 1958 with the Fifth Republic. Is there a useful parallel to be drawn between these events? One of the two will end badly, that's for sure.

What to say ? That I have done many jobs? When you can't do anything, you can do anything. I always thought it was very interesting to disperse, contrary to what the teachers say in the notebooks. Doing the same thing all your life, what a bore, right?

Can I be called dillettante? Certainly. A forgotten writer, yet an academic said: To be a dilettante is to know how to get out of oneself (...) to enlarge and vary one's own life.

For example, I was a professional journalist and I published a few books in collaboration with my brother Patrick. Including "Chaban" and "Hersant", two works published in Seuil. But also "Simenon. Family Album" at the Presses de la Cité. "The Divas of Information" at the Pré aux Clercs". Etc...

I worked for 10 years as a presenter on Radio Nostalgie. I set up a nightclub in La Rochelle called the Tuxedo Café. I even held a sauna...and that's no joke. I really was a bath boy! Not everyone can say the same, right?

There, I made it short for you. I am a kind of acrobat. Able to do nothing. And sometimes to do something.

Ah yes, I am an old La Rochelle. I even wrote a book 20 years ago called "Ma Rochelle".

So drawing and painting in all this? They have always been there. Since childhood. I have always drawn and painted.

If I have to say a little more about what I do, be serious for a paragraph (very difficult exercise for me) I would say that it is the movement and the color that I am looking for. That it is expressed in letters, in faces, drawings, incomprehensible wanderings (even for me sometimes) and in more abstract creations. Popart and StreetArt are the fields closest to my work and in which I can register. It's about playing. With words and patterns. But also with ink and acrylic. Without forgetting the paper which allows an immense flexibility. Here, I stop there and I leave the serious to serious people.

I don't invent anything. I'm just trying to stay true to myself. To make things to decorate interiors. Nothing more. Nada mas.
